Our Journey together

This is where we are going to meet together online as a community and walk through the Bible together. We hope that you use this as a chance to grow, ask questions, and wrestle through texts that sometimes we just read past without looking into what they mean to our lives right now, today.

Monday - 4/6 - Genesis 21

  1. Ever see something new? I had forgotten that Hagar and Ishmael were "mocking" or "making fun of" Isaac. This was at the "weaning" party that Abraham threw for Isaac. Random thoughts:

    1. Jealousy is one of the worst feelings and hardest to deal with.

    2. Abraham loved Ishmael. I like this because while Ishmael was born out of foolish circumstances (see Gen. 16)and even though Isaac was the promised son, Abraham and God still loved Ishmael. God was going to use Isaac and decendents in a different way. But God's love (and Abraham's)included both sons.

There is no room for arrogance because we have discovered the love of God. Our job is to share it with our brothers (and sisters).
